Case studies

Project scenarios: how SSIG scopes common commercial requirements.

Each scenario describes a typical problem, the approach used to resolve it and the systems involved — written to be useful to a property or facilities manager, not to sell a product.

Important

The scenarios below are illustrative engagement models based on typical commercial requirements. They are not records of completed contracts, and no client relationships, contract values or outcomes are claimed. SSIG does not publish client names or project references without written permission.

SCN-01Scenario

Multi-tenant office upgrade

Cape Town CBD · office building

The problem

Shared risers carried unlabelled cabling from three previous tenants, making new tenant connections slow and fault-finding unreliable.

Approach

Audit and label the existing cabling, rebuild the patch field, install new structured cabling for the incoming tenant and issue a documented outlet schedule.

SCN-02Scenario

Warehouse perimeter surveillance

Montague Gardens · distribution facility

The problem

Yard and loading-bay activity was not covered after hours, and gate movements could not be reconciled with camera footage.

Approach

Camera plan covering gates, loading bays and perimeter, recorder sized to the required retention period, with access-controlled gate events aligned to camera time.

SCN-03Scenario

Boardroom and meeting-room standard

Century City · corporate offices

The problem

Each meeting room had been fitted differently, so staff could not rely on displays, audio or video calls working the same way twice.

Approach

Standardise the room design across floors, install consistent displays, audio and conferencing, and programme a single control interface per room.

SCN-04Scenario

Estate entry and visitor control

Northern Suburbs · residential estate

The problem

Visitor verification relied on a single intercom handset, and gate releases were not recorded in a usable way.

Approach

Replace the entry panel with a video station, integrate gate release with access control, and set up a visitor log the managing agent can review.
